This position requires that you have a Maryland Boaters License, however, if you do not have one you can still apply — we will help you get it quickly and easily. The Maryland Boaters License is an online course, which can be found at (https://www.boat-ed.com/). The cost of taking the course ($40) is reimbursed to you in your first paycheck and hands-on training will be provided by our licensed and experienced personnel. Having Jet Ski or boating experience is recommended but not required. Every new employee will be given the opportunity to take the Maryland Dept. of Natural Resources Guide Training class on becoming a Jet Ski Guide and safe boating practices.

Other very important details about the position are listed below: • Jet Ski guides should be able to work long hours in the sun and on the water. (Sunscreen and hydration are a must!)

• Jet Ski Guides/Boat Instructors are responsible for giving pre-ride instructions before each group ride. This includes how to operate a Jet ski safely and correctly and/or Pontoon Boat as well as citing DNR rules and regulations of the waterways prior to launching.
• Guiding our customers out to the riding area in a safe and timely manner.
• Being on patrol and making sure that customers are staying safe, and staying within the riding area.
• Responsibilities also include some light manual labor and maintenance of jet skis and boats (gassing up, flushing motors, cleaning, and checking out the equipment, etc.)

This is a fast-paced position that requires good phone and people skills along with some computer knowledge. Being organized, patient, polite, and a quick thinker is the key to being successful in this role. You will be responsible for:

• Answering phone calls, booking rentals, and answering customer’s questions
• Helping to open and close the booth and keeping the booth area cleaned and organized.
• Helping customers fill out all the necessary paperwork • Helping customers with life jackets and getting them prepared to board the Jet Skis and/or boats.
• Helping clean and sanitize the life jackets Having some knowledge of boats, Jet Skis and kayaks would be helpful but is not required as you will learn quickly with our training.

These positions are seasonal, from May to September. You will be working 4-5 days a week and approximately 8-10 hours a day. Hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to sunset. There are many opportunities for overtime, however everyone gets 2 days off a week, which may not be consecutive. We are flexible with job starting dates in May but would like to have employees work as far into August as possible (our rental business shuts down after Labor Day). If you can work till the last day of our season there will be a $500 cash bonus. You are expected to work on holidays as they tend to be very busy. Both positions can earn tips in addition to the hourly pay.
